The medical skill involved in each and every transplant is amazing!

Every April, Americans take time to salute organ and tissue donor heroes, celebrate the gift of life, and recognize the teams who work around the clock to pull off the miracle of donation and transplantation during National Donate Life Month.

It’s an important honor, one that the team at MediGO does not take lightly. Through our work with organ procurement organizations and transplant centers, we see first-hand how incredibly involved recovery and transplant teams are during the time-sensitive, amazingly technical – and very personal – process to transplant the gift of life from donor to recipient.

MediGO believes that increasing public awareness about the amount of people on the national organ donation waitlist and discussing the vital role organ donors play in giving hope to recipients in need — is the way to inspire others to take the lead and register as organ, eye and tissue donors.

This lifesaving process begins with a donor hero – someone much like you. Donors literally save lives through the selfless gift of organ and tissue donation – gifts for those very much in need, just waiting to match with the right donor.

Just one donor can benefit many recipients. Organs and tissues that can be transplanted include: the kidneys, heart, lungs, liver, pancreas, intes

tines, corneas, heart valves, bones, veins, skin, and tendons.

This National Donate Life Month, we invite you to join the 169 million people already registered as organ donors. By signing up this month, you’ll give hope to the 106,000+ people waiting for a second chance at life. In addition to registering, you can also educate yourself about becoming a living donor and help champion the Donate Life cause.

Please join MediGO this month in recognizing the OPOs, surgeons, and clinical teams for their dedicated efforts to give so many recipients a second chance at life.

You can also join us on FacebookInstagramLinkedInTwitter and DonateLife.net to help us honor donors, recipients, and their families and caregivers.
